Louis Ng on Food Safety and Security Bill
In Parliament on Wednesday (Jan 8), MP Louis Ng voiced his support for the Food Safety and Security Bill and raised three points for clarification, one of them being the offence of supplying food past its labelled date. He noted that this would some food rescue or donation activities on the ground will become illegal, and wanted to know if supplying expired food is permissible under any circumstances. On the Minimum Stockholding Requirement (MSR) for certain industry participants, he also wanted to know what measures the Government will take to ensure that food waste is minimised if MSR is imposed.Â
