Louis Ng on Gambling Duties Bill
The Gambling Duties Bill will consolidate the laws on duties for lawful forms of gambling, said MP Louis Ng in Parliament on Monday (Jan 10). He sought clarifications on three aspects of the Bill. He wanted to know under what circumstances will gambling duty be considered not compatible with the purposes of the law. He also asked what enforcement tools are available for the Government to recover unpaid gambling duties, as well as "softer" measures for indebted individuals. Mr Ng also wanted to know how the Bill will impact Singapore's policy on gambling.
