Louis Ng on Oaths, Declarations and Notarisations (Remote Methods) Bill and constitutional amendment bill

Introducing a framework for people to make statutory declarations and oaths or notarise documents via video link will bring time and cost savings, said MP Louis Ng in Parliament on Wednesday (Aug 2). He asked for clarification on three issues - guidelines for the involvement of interpreters, the responsibility of a Commissioner or notary public to verify that clients are signing documents independently and without undue pressure, and how to ensure the security of communication platforms used.
