Louis Ng on Stillbirths and Births (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill
It is important to ensure that parents have accurate scientific information to help them make emotionally charged decisions about foetal viability, said MP Louis Ng in Parliament on Tuesday (Jan 9). He asked if the Government is looking at how to do this beyond aligning the legislative threshold at 24 weeks, up from 22. Speaking during the debate on the Stillbirths and Births (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill, Mr Ng also asked if steps will be taken to ensure that the application process to enter a name for a stillborn child will be “sensitively designed” and easy for parents to navigate.
