Louis Ng on Workplace Fairness Bill
The Workplace Fairness Bill is an inclusive and progressive one, but it has a glaring carveout as it excludes sexual orientation and gender identity from the definition of sex, said MP Louis Ng. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Jan 8), he asked if this means telling employers that it is okay to discriminate against someone because of his or her sexual orientation and gender identity. Mr Ng voiced support for the Bill which ensures a world without discrimination. But it must be inclusive regardless of a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity, he added.
