Major revamp for Kallang, Sports School to move from Woodlands | National Day Rally 2024
The Singapore Sports School will move to Kallang and new facilities will be built in the area for Team Singapore athletes, said Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in his National Day Rally 2024 speech on Aug 18.
"We will have new sports science and sports medicine facilities. We will bring together the national training centres for several key sports," he announced. "We will make Kallang a place for all Singaporeans to enjoy sports. You don’t need to be an elite athlete to enjoy the facilities at Kallang," Mr Wong added. The main road running through the Sports Hub will be converted into a pedestrianised community boulevard.
