Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Nov 7), he said the business community is convinced that the key to managing living cost effectively lies in bolstering Singapore’s economic base. He stressed the need to channel efforts to enhance Singapore’s competitiveness, encourage innovation and sustainability in businesses, elevate workforce skills and expand the economy. Mr Lee said it is also crucial to provide social support through enduring strategies that will build an economy robust enough to support its people through every challenge and lend a hand to those who need it the most. “Our unity is our strength and it is together that we will craft a sustainable future where economic vitality is matched by social harmony and inclusiveness,” he said.
