The introduction of clear measures to address emerging risks is timely and necessary, said NMP Mark Lee. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 4), he stressed the need for clarity for trade associations and foreign chambers of commerce so that they can continue their work in strengthening economic partnerships and fostering international collaboration. Mr Lee urged the Government to ensure that they can continue to operate effectively within the new framework and reinforce Singapore's standing as a trusted global business hub. He also also stressed the need to ensure transparency in the classification criteria and assessment factors to help trade associations operate with confidence while ensuring compliance.
