More than 24,000 pet cats licensed under scheme to enhance traceability
More than 24,000 pet cats have been microchipped and licensed since the start of a licensing scheme last September. About 97 per cent of these cats have also been sterilised. The scheme comes under the Cat Management Framework which aims to enhance the traceability and welfare of cats. While cat owners have until the end of August next year to license their pet cats, authorities are encouraging owners to do it early.
