Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim on home fire safety alarm devices
The number of fires along HDB common corridors and passageways has been decreasing over the years, said Minister of State for Home Affairs Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim. Replying to an MP's questions in Parliament on Monday (Mar 7), he highlighted the efforts of agencies and town councils to make HDB flats safe from fires. Since June 2018, all residential units which are undergoing fire safety works have to install home fire alarm devices. For residential units built before June 2018, the installation is voluntary.
