Full-time National Servicemen form about 42 per cent of the Singapore Civil Defence Force’s (SCDF) frontline firefighting force. This is supplemented by Operationally Ready National Servicemen. Minister of State for Home Affairs Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, who said this in parliament on Tuesday (Apr 8), stressed that SCDF ensures that all its officers are professionally trained and well-equipped to carry out their duties safely and effectively. He highlighted the efforts to ensure that they are trained to meet the physical and operational requirements of the job. He was responding to an MP's questions.
