National Library Board launches 5-year movement to encourage reading

Good news for book lovers! On Sep 6 and the first Friday of every month, one popular eBook will be available on the National Library Board's (NLB) mobile app for instant borrowing. Another scheme rewards those who read for at least 15 minutes a day, with CrowdTaskSG points that can be converted into cash. It is part of NLB’s five-year movement to make reading a lifelong habit; it was launched on Sep 6 with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam in attendance. But are Singaporeans really too busy to read?
