NDR 2021: Consumers must chip in for cost of higher wages for lower wage workers in Singapore: PM Lee
As Singapore looks to better support lower wage workers, consumers need to help as well, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said during his National Day Rally speech on Sunday (Aug 29). “All of us, as consumers, must also chip in. Pay a little bit more for some of our favourite things, like bubble tea or bak chor mee, to help the shop cover higher cleaning and waste collection costs,” Mr Lee said.
