Singapore and Malaysia are closely linked, but with their share of ups and downs. How will they resolve their latest differences and are there outcomes that benefit both sides?

Neighbours: Singapore-Malaysia Relations

About the show:

Singapore and Malaysia are geographically divided by the Johor Strait. But they are closely linked in many ways, with shared history, shared culture and shared heritage. And as in all close relationships, there are differences, some of them long standing. This programme will look at differences that have resurfaced recently over the price of water, airspace control and port limits, providing an overview and explanation of the issues. It will examine implications and what’s at stake as the neighbours sit down to resolve these issues and whether there are outcomes that will benefit both sides.
