Ng Ling Ling on supporting healthcare
There is no doubt that the Government is committed to supporting healthcare beyond the COVID-19 pandemic but it needs to continue to be vigilant in how the Budget is being spent to produce better health outcomes, said MP Ng Ling Ling. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (May 9), she called for a whole-of-society effort in three key areas. These are supporting family doctors through HealthierSG, looking out for frontline workers, especially those in emergency wards, and empowering Singaporeans with more knowledge and support to manage their own health better. She stressed the need to have “all hands on deck” in a clinically informed and administratively efficient and coordinated way to ensure that “health is wealth” for most Singaporeans.
