Ng Shi Xuan on Digital Infrastructure Bill

11:55 Min

Data centre firms must keep investing after they are set up here and help support Singapore’s power grid where they can. Their growth must lead to good jobs for Singapore’s firms and its workers. MP Ng Shi Xuan highlighted these priorities in parliament on Wednesday (Oct 7). He urged the government to start preparing workers before the new data centres open for three groups of jobs - those needed to build data centres, those needed in the long term to run, secure and maintain the sites, and jobs created when firms use the computing power to build and apply AI. He stressed the need to secure more of the second and third groups of jobs.
