North Korea's Kim orders military to heighten readiness, intensify war drills

According to North Korean state media, leader Kim Jong Un has ordered "heightened readiness for war" and tasked his military to intensify its actual war drills. Pyongyang has been sharpening its sabre-rattling as Seoul and Washington conduct their annual Freedom Shield exercise. Pyongyang had urged the allies to stop their drills, but Seoul and Washington said the exercises are defensive and a response to the North's threats.
