Pakistan celebrates 79 years of independence

Pakistan is marking 79 years of independence. Celebrations started with fireworks at the stroke of midnight, followed by flag-raising ceremonies, wreath-laying and other tributes to founders of the nation. Yesterday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also inaugurated the Monument of Victory, which commemorates a four-day conflict with India last year that saw 26 people killed in Kashmir.
