Pakistan's newly elected assembly opens amid pro-Imran Khan protests

Protests by supporters of jailed former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan dominated the first session of the country's newly elected National Assembly. The Lower House convened today -- exactly three weeks after the nation voted to elect a new government. The elections, which saw no party winning a majority, have been plagued by allegations of rigging and interference. On Monday, parliamentarians are expected to elect the next prime minister.
