Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas is set to address the UN General Assembly via a virtual link today. Washington had blocked Mr Abbas' presence at the summit in New York, after denying visas to him and his delegation. His address comes days after several Western nations recognised Palestinian statehood. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed not to allow a Palestinian state. Far-right members of his Cabinet have threatened to annex the West Bank in a bid to prevent independence. Toni Waterman reports from New York.
