Phishing attacks on the rise as more businesses digitalise

Hacking attempts have risen sharply in 1H2021. Phishing -- where criminals disguise themselves as legitimate organisations to ask for personal information -- is a growing concern. According to a poll of over 100 organisations in Singapore by cybersecurity firm Sophos, 70% said they have noticed a jump in the number of phishing attacks. Criminals often use the information to launch ransomware attacks -- locking up an organisation's data and releasing it for an exorbitant fee.
