Rahayu Mahzam on ensuring Internet access for all students outside school

More than 20,000 low-income households with school-going children have benefited from the Infocomm Media Development Authority's NEU PC Plus Programme from January 2020 to September 2021. It offers them a brand new computer or laptop at a subsidised rate. Schools have also loaned out Internet-enabled devices to students without home Internet access during periods of home-based learning amid COVID-19. Answering an MP’s question in Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 3), Parliamentary Secretary for Communications and Information Rahayu Mahzam said the Government will continue to review its initiatives to meet students’ digital connectivity needs outside school.
