Rahayu Mahzam on Food Safety and Security Bill
The Ministry of Health will be able to issue, administer and enforce food-related regulations to promote better health for the general public under the Food Safety and Security Bill. Minister of State for Health Rahayu Mahzam, who outlined the key features in Parliament on Wednesday (Jan 8), said a safer and more resilient food system that can also support better population health and nutrition is aligned with Singapore’s ongoing efforts to strengthen preventive care. It will empower Singaporeans to lead healthier lifestyles, she added.
