Nanyang Technological University (NTU) anticipates an initial enrolment of about 15 students for its new Master of Science in Holistic Palliative Care programme. Graduates can be employed in healthcare institutions and community care organisations that provide patients with end-of-life support. Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Health Rahayu Mahzam gave this update in reply to an MP's questions in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 27). She added that workforce training and development is a key enabler of the Ministry of Health's national palliative care strategy, with healthcare professionals equipped with knowledge on palliative care through the local undergraduate training curriculum. Post-graduate training programmes in palliative care are also offered by the Agency for Integrated Care's Learning Network, healthcare organisations and Institutes of Higher Learning.
