Vaping appears to be on the rise in Singapore and the Ministry of Health will step up enforcement and public education efforts against the trend. Later this year, the Health Promotion Board will roll out a vape-free campaign targeting youths and younger adults through popular digital platforms. In response to an MP’s questions on Monday (Mar 7), Parliamentary Secretary for Health Rahayu Mahzam said there is no data on the use of vaporisers as these are illegal products and reliable self-reported data is hard to come by. However, she gave details of increases in the number of people caught for importing, buying, using and possessing vaporisers last year, including those aged below 18.
