Raj Joshua Thomas on Workplace Fairness Bill
The Workplace Fairness Bill is a “landmark legislation” that will go a long way in creating fairer and more equitable workplaces, said NMP Raj Joshua Thomas. But it is a “missed opportunity” to extend protections to outsourced workers, he said in Parliament on Wednesday (Jan 8). He pointed out that there is a gap in the protection regime as the key determination of their workplace conditions is site owners or the service buyers, and not their employers.
