Revised cybersecurity code of practice covers board accountability, detection and response

07:02 Min

Boards and senior management of Singapore's Critical Information Infrastructure operators will be held directly accountable for cyber resilience, under an updated Cybersecurity Code of Practice. The revised code shifts the focus from preventing attacks to monitoring, detecting, responding to and recovering from cyber incidents. Speaking at a cybersecurity forum, Josephine Teo – the Minister for Digital Development and Information, says collective cyber resilience is only as strong as its weakest link. She says advances in AI are enabling cybercriminals to find weaknesses faster and carry out attacks on a larger scale. Singapore is also calling for stronger cooperation to guard against digital and information threats, as AI reshapes cyber risks amid growing geopolitical tensions. To discuss the topic, we’re joined by Brigadier-General Clarence Cai who is with the Digital and Intelligence Service. Also sharing his insights - Muhammad Faizal - Research Fellow at the Regional Security Architecture Programme at RSIS.
