Sharael Taha on Building a Healthier SG

13:02 Min

It is understandable for Healthier SG to focus on the elderly but it must not forget the other age segments of the population, says MP Sharael Taha. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Oct 4), he raised concerns with the growing number of vaping cases involving youths and young adults. Calling for Healthier SG not to turn a "blind eye" to emerging and worrying trends, he said more must be done to prevent vaping. He also wanted to know how the Government will ensure that healthcare clusters reach out to their residents effectively. He also highlighted the role of employers, which he noted was "missing" in the programme. He wanted to know how they can be incentivised and recognised for promoting healthier lifestyles, such as providing healthier meals and exercise breaks for staff.
