Sharael Taha on Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill

What legal action can be taken by the authorities if the sexual perpetrators are not in Singapore, as online sexual grooming can occur across borders? Will the Government set up a platform for parents and minors to report offenders in Singapore and develop the capability and resources to track such offenders? MP Sharael Taha, who raised these questions in Parliament on Monday (Sep 13), also wanted to know how the vulnerable in society can be better protected, beyond harsher punishment for offenders. He urged parents and guardians to educate the young to spot and report inappropriate activities.
