In Parliament on Tuesday (May 7), MP Sharael Taha sought several clarifications on the Cybersecurity (Amendment) Bill, focusing on challenges to its implementation, the balance between security enhancements and the compliance burden on businesses. He also wanted to know how the Government will manage other technologies that could pose as an opportunity as well as a threat, such as the use of deep learning, machine learning and artificial intelligence within Critical Information Infrastructure. In addition to asking how adequate compliance can be ensured, he also wanted to know how a balance can be struck between ensuring robust cybersecurity without overwhelming businesses with regulatory demands.
