Shawn Huang on employment of migrant domestic workers
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) regularly reviews its policies to ensure that the migrant domestic worker (MDW) employment model supports households' needs, while safeguarding the well-being of MDWs. It has also strengthened safeguards for MDWs, such as giving them at least one day off per month that cannot be compensated away. Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Manpower Shawn Huang highlighted the safeguards in reply to an MP’s question in parliament on Wednesday (Oct 7).
