Singapore and Timor-Leste deepen ties with new initiatives
Singapore and Timor-Leste have announced new initiatives to strengthen bilateral ties during Prime Minister Lawrence Wong's first official visit to the country. From the second half of 2027, Timorese work permit holders will be eligible to work in Singapore's construction, maritime and process sectors. The two countries also agreed to deepen cooperation in foreign affairs, healthcare, education and ASEAN readiness, as Singapore prepares for its first ASEAN chairmanship.
