Singapore is trialing an improved automated immigration clearance system for people who use cars to pass through land checkpoints. The system being tested at Old Woodlands Checkpoint is a second iteration of their Automated Passenger In-car Clearance System (APICS). Instead of using fingerprint scanners, this one utilises contactless facial and iris biometric scanners. We found out how it worked.
