Some outsourced workers under Progressive Wage Model to be entitled to more annual leave from 2029

Some outsourced workers under the Progressive Wage Model will be entitled to a minimum of 10 days of annual leave - up from seven days currently. Such workers are employed by service providers then deployed to client companies under outsourcing arrangements. The Manpower Ministry says the change will be progressively rolled out across five sectors from 2029 - cleaning, security, landscape, lift and escalator, as well as waste management. It is part of professionalising these sectors, which perform essential services. Chloe Teo reports.
