New career track, redesigned job roles for community care staff in Singapore
Those in the community care sector can now pursue a new career track that will broaden their job scope to better serve the needs of Singapore's ageing population. This, after a successful pilot by the Health Ministry and Agency for Integrated Care (AIC). Over 500 comcare staff will have new redesigned roles. The pilot that started in 2021 found that these new roles drove up productivity, with staff taking up higher skilled tasks and having more avenues to advance their own careers. The training is now accredited under the national Skills Framework for Healthcare. Rachel Teng reports.
