Nine Nominated Members of Parliament take oaths, sworn in at first Parliament sitting of the year
Nine Nominated Members of Parliament, or NMPs were sworn in at the first Parliament sitting of the year. They include Assoc Prof Kenneth Goh, Assoc Prof Terence Ho, Mr Azhar Othman and Dr Haresh Singa-raju. Also sworn in were Ms Kuah Boon Theng, Prof Kenneth Poon, Dr Neo Kok Beng, Mr Sanjeev Tiwari and second-term NMP, Mr Mark Lee. The NMP scheme aims to ensure a wide representation of views in Parliament, with appointments lasting two-and-a-half years.
