Sun Xueling on MOE Financial Assistance Scheme

The Ministry of Education’s Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) offers support to Singaporean students from lower-income households. It is provided one year at a time so that it can be easily reviewed and adjusted if family circumstances change. Students who transfer to a different school within the school year will continue to receive FAS without having to reapply. Graduating students who are moving to a new school can make an application in their current school towards the end of the graduating year. Minister of State for Education Sun Xueling gave the details in Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 3), in response to an MP’s question about the continuity of FAS when a student’s school posting changes.
