Sun Xueling on use of boarding school as registered address

The Ministry of Education does not have data on the number of Singaporean students and educational institution staff who use a boarding school as their registered address, as they do not need to inform the ministry when they choose to do so. Once an individual reports a change in residential address with the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority, Government agencies which are part of a one-stop reporting service for change of address will use this registered address to correspond with the individual, including for the provision of Government schemes and services. If educational institution staff or students have difficulty accessing schemes or services provided by such entities, they can directly approach the respective entities for advice. Minister of State for Education Sun Xueling said this in reply to an MP's questions in Parliament on Friday (Feb 18).
