Tan Kiat How on animal abuse cases
NParks received 654 reports of alleged stray animal abuse from 2019 to 2021. Of these, 12 cases could be substantiated with evidence. Enforcement actions were subsequently taken against the offenders. Minister of State for National Development Tan Kiat How said this in reply to an MP's questions in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 10). He said most of the cases reported involved stray cats, but stated that there was no rising trend in stray animal abuse cases, nor were there common types of abuse observed.
