Tan Kiat How on delivering BTO flats without acceleration cost
As the construction industry recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, HDB has made "steady progress" in delivering Build-to-Order flats to home buyers, said Senior Minister of State for National Development Tan Kiat How. HDB has been able to meet these completion dates without incurring acceleration cost, he said in reply to an MP's questions in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 14). To reduce construction delays, HDB has been working closely with its contractors and agency partners to put in place extensive measures. These include sourcing for workers overseas to address manpower shortages and streamlining processes to expedite approvals. Mr Tan said these collective efforts have enabled HDB to deliver more homes to flat owners and minimise delays without compromising safety and quality.
