Tan Kiat How on illegal trade of endangered species

From 2017 to 2021, 18 cases were prosecuted for the illegal trade of endangered species. Of these, seven were transporting the endangered species. There was no evidence they were selling the species or keeping them for themselves. Of the remaining 11 cases, four were found to be transporting the species for sale, while seven were found to be transporting the endangered species for personal use. Minister of State for National Development Tan Kiat How shared these statistics in reply to an MP's question in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 2).
