Tan See Leng on CPF contribution threshold under Silver Support Scheme
The Ministry of Manpower periodically reviews the eligibility criteria for the Silver Support Scheme. In 2021, the total CPF contribution threshold was doubled from S$70,000 to S$140,000. In 2025, the qualifying monthly per capita household income threshold was raised from S$1,800 to S$2,300 and the quarterly payments increased by 20 per cent. About 290,000 seniors aged 65 and above currently benefit from this scheme. Manpower Minister Tan See Leng gave this update in reply to an MP’s question in parliament on Tuesday (Jan 13).
