14:48 Min

Ninety-eight work permit holders were admitted to the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) between January and September 2021 under a new "escalation pathway" arrangement with the psychiatric hospital. The new pathway ensures timely care for more severe cases where necessary. Manpower Minister Tan See Leng gave this update on Tuesday (Nov 2), in response to Parliamentary questions. Dr Tan said this number is lower than that of last year but higher compared with pre-pandemic times. Migrant worker community visits have been expanded from 500 to 3,000 vaccinated workers per week but any further calibration has to take into account Singapore's healthcare capacity.
