Tan See Leng on securing Singapore’s energy market
Singapore has introduced “guardrails” to make its energy market more resilient amid global volatility. Second Minister for Trade and Industry Tan See Leng recapped the measures in Parliament on Tuesday (Nov 8) in reply to MPs’ questions. They cover three key areas - power generation, gas supply and the electricity retail market. Dr Tan said the measures will incur higher costs but will be implemented in a calibrated way to balance the cost burden while ensuring that electricity remains affordable.
