US slams France's move to recognise Palestinian state

France has announced that it intends to recognise a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly in September. President Emmanuel Macron said he hopes it will help bring peace to the region. It would make France the first ally of Israel and the first G7 nation to recognise Palestinian statehood. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the decision "rewards terror", while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has slammed the "reckless decision".
