Vikram Nair on Workplace Fairness Bill
The provisions in the Workplace Fairness Bill are unlikely to surprise multinational employers, particularly those from the West where anti-discrimination legislation is quite common, said MP Vikram Nair in Parliament on Wednesday (Jan 8), noting that many of these companies would already have anti-discrimination provisions as part of their internal policies. He suggested that assistance be provided to local employers, including small- and medium-sized enterprises, on compliance with these provisions, especially sections of the Bill which require employers to put in place fair employment practices.
