Many construction projects in Singapore have been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. MP Joan Pereira asked how a balance can be found between expediting building work and keeping disamenities like noise pollution to acceptable levels. Ms Pereira also asked how authorities will ensure that surveillance recordings at sites that have flouted no-work rules are not tampered with. Adding that the public would not know how to tell if maximum noise levels have been breached, she suggested that the relevant information be posted at worksites. She was speaking in Parliament on Monday (Sep 13).
