Victor Lye on Finance (Income Taxes) Bill
The Finance (Income Taxes) Bill recognises AI adoption as more than subscribing to an AI model, said MP Victor Lye. Speaking in parliament on Tuesday (Oct 6), he stressed the need to go beyond encouraging AI spending. Instead, look at the kind of economic capability the expenditure should create, he said. He urged the government to focus on connecting capability with internationalistion, maximising productivity and strategic economic value and helping small- and medium-sized enterprises overcome the limits of Singapore’s small domestic market and earn more revenue overseas.
