Wan Rizal on Private Security Industry (Amendment) Bill
In Parliament on Tuesday (Oct 5), MP Wan Rizal asked how many cases of abuse and harassment of security officers were reported in the past three years and what actions were taken against the perpetrators. He also wanted to know if there would be a proper protocol for officers to report offences against them. On overall welfare, he noted that security officers work up to 12 hours per shift. He asked if a limit, as well as days or hours off, might be mandated, without affecting salaries.
