Wan Rizal on Skills and Workforce Development Agency Bill

15:21 Min

If the new Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) succeeds, students will step into the workforce with greater confidence, workers will move faster into suitable roles with less confusion and less anxiety, while leaders will have greater assurance that learning can lead to real progress, said MP Wan Rizal. Speaking in parliament on Tuesday (May 5), he sought clarifications on three points. Firstly, how will SWDA move upstream to close the job gap for students and transition gap for adult learners. Secondly, how will success be measured beyond participation numbers. Thirdly, what concrete service experience should Singaporeans feel within the next one or two years in guidance and in matching and transition support that will show that the merger is actually making the pathway much clearer.
